A Boundary Survey is commonly referred to as an Identification (Ident) Survey. An Identification Survey is carried out to re-establish the property boundaries as close to the original marking as possible.
Identification surveys are commonly used to;- Mark boundaries for fencing or future construction of buildings
- Aid in any dispute regarding boundary position between neighbours
- Determining the extent of any building or structure encroachments over the boundaries
- In order to re-establish the boundary corners, a surveyor must locate and survey reference markers within the area to determine the indicative location of the property boundaries.
- Once the survey has been completed, the client will be supplied a plan indicating the following;
- Boundaries of the property
- Relationship of boundaries to existing structures or fencing on the property
- Show offsets of marks placed if the true boundary corner cannot be marked
